Jennifer Carlino (Petraexhibuita var. herbaedestes) or the “rock climbing plant-eater”

Description: Brown hair, brown eyes, usually has a leaf or pine needle sticking out of hair, pants are usually tucked into socks while in the field

Range: Largely restricted to the Town of Easton where she is employed as the Land Use and Environmental Planner; frequent regional migration for amphibian, reptile, plant observation, wildlife tracking, hiking, climbing, cross-country skiing, kayaking or biking; species range can extend worldwide for periodic travel, migration and dispersal

Habitat: Frequently found in vernal pools, wetlands, forests, fields and cliffs

Life Cycle/ Behavior: Began career in Peace Corps in West Africa, worked in several MA communities including Wellesley, Billerica, Norton (22 years) and is currently working in Easton; Past President of MACC and MSMCP, past Secretary for AMWS; Administers Wetland Protection Act, local Wetland Bylaw, and manages conservation land; Blue-spotted salamander research team; vegetable family photography
